Chraev Waterfall Community-Based Ecotourism

 Chraev Waterfall Community-Based Ecotourism is an emerging and highly potential destination in Kampong Speu province, attracting visitors to enjoy swimming, relaxing, and camping. This has greatly contributed to improving the livelihoods of the local community in the area.

The Chraev Waterfall site holds tremendous potential as it is located within the Phnom Oral mountain range and is supported by the community through ecotourism and adventure tourism initiatives. What makes this site particularly remarkable is its stunning 15-meter-high waterfall cascading down the mountainside—an enticing natural feature for recreational visitors.

Chraev Waterfall consists of seven tiers of cool, refreshing falls, making it an ideal location for visitors to unwind. Surrounded by forested mountains, this natural site is gaining attention from domestic tourists who have come to appreciate its fresh, clean environment and beautiful scenery.

Visitors to the site can swim, bathe, and relax while enjoying views of the lush mountains and the cascading waterfall. They can gather with family and friends under the shade of trees, sit on natural rock platforms, enjoy meals together, and listen to the soothing sounds of birds and the continuous rush of water over stone.

“The Chraev Community is located next to the Orange Farm Resort, and both sites are accessible via a single route. Visitors can choose to visit either location. Within the Chraev Community, the waterfall spans from the first tier to the seventh, and the higher you climb, the more beautiful the falls become. That’s why many young people enjoy coming here for recreation. Our community also sells local products, such as fruit and food at affordable prices. Importantly, there is no logging or forest clearing involved,” a representative stated.
